Marco Boldini is a lawyer and a leading academic authority on financial services regulations, including but not limited to AIFMD, UCITS, PRIIPs, FCA Handbook and Brexit-related topics, as well as on all aspects of funds-related work, in particular on ETFs and ETCs. He advises clients on MIFID II and compliance matters before the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority and the Italian Companies and Exchange Commission. Marco also has deep knowledge of the fintech sector, particularly blockchain and cryptocurrency matters. Named Legal 500 UK’s in-house Regulatory Lawyer of the Year for 2019, Marco served as Italian Honorary Consul in the United Kingdom to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as well as to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Prior to joining Terrapay, Marco was a Partner in the Milan office of Orrick law firm and served as Head of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) UK Financial Services Regulatory practice. Prior to PwC, he served as European Regulatory Director at asset management firm ETF Securities in London. He is a Solicitor in England and Wales and a fully qualified UK Barrister at Middle Temple Inn, a Notary in England and Wales, as well as an avvocato in Italy.
He is currently an Hon Visiting Professor at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass) within the Faculty of Finance.
Since December 2021, Marco has become a full professor (Professore Straordinario) at the University San Raffaele in Rome where he teaches Fintech Law.
